A Federation archeological expedition team on the planet Priapus, a sub-tropical world with ruins of an old civilization and rich with iridium and a deep cavernous system lined with starithium has gone silent. The USS Ontario is dispatched to the Priapus system to check on the missing archeologist only to discover something has ransacked their base camp and destroyed the communications transmitter.
